do i require orthognatic surgery for my facial asymmetry?

I am a 25 year old female and I have quite a noticeable asymmetry on my left mandibular region. i consulted a few orthoointists who deal with maxillofacial surgeons and they asked me to go with orthognatic surgery but for reducing the prominence of the lower jaw and say not much about my asymmetry. According to one of the orthodontists I have a rather concave mandible angle on one jaw(from the skeletal images) and convex on the other and I would need an implant to produce the curve at the angle and has therefore suggested for me to go with orthodontics for a proper bite and later a bone implant on the left mandible as a less invasive procedure. I was wondering on the other hand if there are some dentofacial appliances that can be used to expand my left jaw region as the teeth seem to be a little depressed inside too. Also, is there anything available to expand the jaw too (as in the bone)?
