Grafting front jaw area after 40 years without teeth

I lost my front teeth when I was only 17 years old. I am 60 years old now. 2 years ago my bridge failed, as did the implant that supported it. Two years ago I had cadaver grafts done by a dentist across that front jaw. I infected immediately and though it was obvious the dentist at one point tried to sew the gray falling out tissue back in. I had 3 surgeries in 3 weeks time with him and my mouth across the front jaw is just a void. He removed what bone was left nearly to the roof of my mouth. It has been described by an oral surgeon as a "butcher job". I have consulted oral maxillofacial surgeon in Lone Tree,CO. I am scheduled for corrective surgery on the 17th. I am very nervous and really cannot know the right answer for me. He plans to extract bone from the hip for the grating procedure. Absolutely no pressure will be allowed for 6 weeks..liquid diet. He hopes to rebuild bone that is strong enough to support implants. I deemed the Clear Choice idea unsafe. I have autoimmune problems with Sjogren's. The partial plate idea is the worst and there seems to be no other options. The surgeon is a gifted surgeon and has done extensive research in bone augmentation procedures. My reservation is that given all the circumstances my odds on a good day are challenged. Do you know of anyone that has actually had a similar situation with little to no bone ridge left and it ends up to be a success story? I must make up my mind and this is very difficult. Also there is much scarring inside that upper lip. There is nerve damage that remains after 2 years past the last surgery date. It cannot be fixed. There is drawing and tautness inside the scarred inner lip. The surgeon would release the scar tissue but again that lip would need to be utilized for the grafting procedure. I would so appreciate another expert opinion on my behalf. Thank you!
