Gum Swollen Around Wisdom Tooth?

My wisdom tooth is coming in, and my gum is swollen around the tooth, is this normal? What will help the swelling go down?

Answer: It is normal to have a bit of swelling around the tooth that is trying to erupt

It is common to have the gum area swell a little while a tooth is trying to erupt. Everyone is different. What you can do is rinse your mouth with perioxide and water and make sure you keep the area clean of food and debris. After a couple of days, the tooth should surface and it will erupt fully within time. The gum then should go down to normal, if not go and make a appointment with the dentist to check it out and make sure nothing is wrong. I hope you have the room for the wisdom tooth to erupt.  Good Luck
