I lost my retainer for the third time

Hello, a few weeks ago i got given my second pair of retainers due to lost and i realized a few minuets ago i lost my bottom half again for the third time! and i have a massive over bite, i am not sure where it is but i think it must be in my school since i was there for a whole day. My mum has been low on money recently and i did just make her pay a fortune for a new pair and she has just started to recover from the amount of money, i have also not told her since it is the early hours of the morning. My orthodontist told me at my last appointment where she handed me my second pair that if i loose them again that she would be left with no choice but to remove 3 adult teeth and give me braces for 3 years! and i cant let that happen. So my question is do you think that if i don't find my retainers at school tomorrow, tell my orthodontist or move to a different company, also how do you think i should tell my mum since she is a very busy women?
