Invisalign side effects

Hi, I got my braces off in about four months ago. I own both traditional retainers and clear ones as well. I wear my traditional retainers for comfort most of the time. Last night I noticed that my lower teeth were showing gaps, so before I went to bed, I switched on my invisalign since they were tighter and I thought they would settle my teeth back into their places. The next morning my lower gums felt awful. I figured there was no blood circulation in my lower gum judging from my pale gums around my teeth. So that morning I switched back to my visible retainers and saw that my teeth were all aligned again. This evening however, my teeth were once again in gaps. Not only that, but my lower teeth were noticeably loose. I can wriggle them with my hand and they would literally move around as if they are baby teeth slowly getting ready to fall out. They are still in place and not completely loose, but I am afraid that my invisalign had caused this problem. My upper invisalign is somehow free from these side effects. Is it possible that they are not fit for my teeth? and will my teeth be fine? P.S. my lower invisalign is very likely to be misshaped;I can't close my jaws without putting a great amount of tension on my bottom teeth and slightly pulling it back. Thank you.

Answer: Keep wearing the retainer and go see the orthodontist

By

It is very important to wear the retainer full time for one year after getting the braces off. Due to your gums are very soft from all the moving of the teeth and it takes a year to get hard again.

the orthodontist may be able to adjust the retainer so its tighter and keep the gap closed. Like you said when you wear the clear one is tighter.

Go and make a appointment with the orthodontist and bring both of your retainer so they can see them.

Good Luck
