Can a double fastened /tied spring come undone on its own? My daugther kept having trouble with a spring breaking so they said they \"double tied\" it. They said she is lying and it cannot come undone on its own. My daughter is one of those kids that will tell the truth even if it gets her grounded...she has no reason to lie about this. Is it possible for it to still come undone?

Answer: Orthodontic springs breaking

There a many appliances that a Orthodontist may add to braces to create different pushing or pulling forces to achieve a desired outcome in Orhtodontic treatment. Springs are such an appliance and there are many types and sizes. Springs can be tied on, crimped on, screwed on for varius needs. I will say that they are not usually, easily removed by a patient but can be done. I will also say that yes, there is opportunity fof breakage or disengagement of springs from the natural pressures of chewing.
