Hellow! I´m a orthodontist and I will like to help you. For understanding this topic you first need to know some anatomic parts of the teeth. The teeth have cuspids: The cuspids of the teeth are those sharp parts that help us to chew. The cuspid that is near the mucosa of the cheek is called vestibular cuspid. The cuspid that is near the palate is called palatin cuspid. When teeth contact in a normal condition, the palatin cuspid of the upper teeth will contact the center of the lower teeth (fosa) when you chew. In the Brodie Bite coondition, the palatin cuspid of the upper tooth contact in the vestibular surface of the vestibular cuspid of the lower teeth; It means that they aren´t contacting well. Is a little messy to understand without a drawing but if you read it several times maybe it will help. Greetings!
