White/yellow bumps in mouth

Friday I noticed an odd pain in my mouth, the next day I decided to look at it as the pain was not going away. I noticed below my front lower teeth there was a yellow/white bump with red swelling around it. I waited to see if it would go away and when it did not I tried numbing medicine and salt and water. This did not work either in fact. The pain hurts so bad I don't want to talk as my lip grazes the spot. Now I have another bump between the crease of my lip and my gums. What is this and what can I do about it?

Answer: abscess?

Sounds as if you have an infection. It could be an abscess that has formed. If it looks like a pimple and is swollen that could be what it is. Do not try to "pop" it. There may be in infection in one of the surrounding teeth. Sometimes they even go away but that does not mean the infection is gone. I would make an appointment to go to the dentist to take an xray. The xray will determine if there is a bad tooth or if something else is going on. They may even put you on an antibiotic. Another thing it could be is a canker sore. If you are prone to getting them that may be what it is also. Try using a different toothbrush and continue to use warm salt water to rinse. If that is what it is it should go away. It is a virus that needs to take its course. After it is gone throw away that toothbrush as well and use a new one. Do not place you toothbrush by any other one either. Either way make an appointment as soon as possible to avoid anyother complications.
