Dr. Rod Tataryn performs 2 root canal therapies on Zamba the lion

Comments: Dr. Rod Tataryn, a Spokane, WA endodontist, performs two root canal therapies on Zamba, a 650 pound lion who has starred in movies and roared for MGM studios. Zamba broke off his two right canine teeth exposing the nerves. The root canal therapy alleviated the pain that Zamba was suffering and prevented the teeth from becoming infected and abscessed had they been left untreated. Dr. Brian Hunter, a Spokane veterinarian, performed the anesthesia for the procedure at Cat Tales Zoological Park in Mead, Washington.
