I didn't realize it was fractured until I had it X-rayed several times in late December 2011. The fracture didn't initially show up and had to get an MRI which really didn't reveal the fracture either. I then had the Scaphoid X-rayed again in several different uncomfortable wrist positions that finally revealed the fracture visibly to the eye. It turned out to be a Proximal pole nonunion Scaphoid fracture requiring a bone graft from my left Radius bone. A metal pin was then used to hold the bone in place. I was then put in a long arm Plaster of Paris cast with no fingers free. I had the orthopedic surgery done a few months ago at The Hand Center located in Glastonbury Connecticut. They have an exceptionally well-trained, extremely dedicated and knowledgeable staff that made all the Difference.
