Fresh out of the Surgery room[June 27, 2012]

Comments: On June 27th, 2012, I went in to get upper and lower jaw surgery done to fix an underbite, crossbite, and a crooked upper bite that I had. I got braces when I was 12 and developed a misalignment of my jaws during my orthodonic treatment. They took my braces off and told me to wait until I was 17 and I could get my jaw surgery done. After I turned 17 they put braces back on me, and Well, on June 27th, that was my surgery day! I got put anesthetic and I woke up hysterically gasping for air because I couldn't breathe because of that tube that you see in the video, it was draining blood that I had inside from the surgery. I think that was the hardest part for me throughout the surgery: the fact that I had MAJOR breathing problems. In this video, I hadn't woken up yet. Throughout the whole surgery I only used painkillers ONCE and that was when I was fresh out of the surgery. They gave me this morphine button to press if I wanted some, and I pressed it and it made me dizzy, nauseous, and just flat out made me feel icky ! Over all, I'm happy with the results of my surgery though =) All of the surgery is done internally on the inside of your mouth. The only thing they did on the outside was put some screws in through the sides of my cheek though two small incisions that healed up nicely
