9.5 weeks post jaw-surgery (class III underbite, crossbite) It's been 9.5 weeks since jaw surgery. My splint was removed approx. 6 weeks after surgery. Will continue wearing braces until 4 upper front prosthetic teeth are put into place due to having smaller top teeth than bottom teeth. Eating and feeling is returning to normal, but it's not 100% at this time. Will continue updating videos until braces are off and my smile/bite is correctly aligned. Views: 1621 |

Profile shots - Cross Bite - Braces 4 months (3) I thought I'd take some photos of my cross bite, so you guys can see it properly instead of webcam photos/vids! I'll take photos in a couple months to see the difference in my teeth and obvs. just before the surgery and after shots. Correcting Posterior Crossbite Using Rubber Bands Posterior (rear) crossbites are quite common and can be fixed using a palatal expander if caught before the onset of puberty (usually around age 10). Depending on the severity of the crossbite they can also be corrected after puberty using Damon braces and rubber bands. By using Damon braces and crossbite rubber bands costly and painful jaw surgery can often be avoided. It's important to note though that the correction will only occur if you wear the rubber bands as instructed by your orthodontist. Views: 22065 |
