They are tooth-colored bumps of bonding material that will stay attached to my teeth until the end of treatment. They help turn the teeth into the correct positions. The appointment took about an hour. I have asymmetrical tooth alignment, overbite, space between my front teeth, etc. so I need a lot of attachments. Wasn't too bad. The sanding down of the attachments was the worst part. I have sensitive teeth so sometimes it struck a nerve. But Heather at Carter Orthodontics would stop if it was bothering me and was very careful around the gum line. With the attachments on I should really start seeing an improvement in my teeth. I called Cheryl at Carter Orthodontics and she told me to just put my next set of aligners in. I was using too much force to get the aligners out, so she told me to be careful in the area that I cracked on the previous aligners. I took her advice and haven't had any problems with this set.
