Jaw Surgery: Orthognathic Maxillary Surgery A documentary of pictures of my Orthognathic Jaw Surgery completed on June 10, 2008 to correct my overbite. The surgery was done in 5 hours at the Ohio State Medical Center by Dr.Larson and his staff of doctors. I could not eat food for 6 weeks and was on a liquid diet. If you have any further questions about this surgery or if you are planning to have it and want advice feel free to e-mail me at the address provided at the end of the video. The Procedure: -Broke both my Upper and Lower Jaws -Put in Titanium Metal "L" Shaped Plates to hold my jaws in place -Inserted screws through holes in my cheeks that they created to hold my jaw in place -Put in a retainer that stays in for 8 weeks after surgery and goes through the gums to make the body learn about the new mouth placement and recover correctly. This apparatus must be surgically removed in a small operation only requiring sedation for a few minutes. -Adjusted the distance between my nose and upper lip arch for maximum results All of this was done to correct an overbite that I genetically received that could not be fully remedied through Orthodontic treatment and to prevent future consequences such as TMJ, Sleep Apnea, and many more... -The Song is Called Kiss Me,I'm Shitfaced by Dropkick Murphys Thanks for Watching Views: 53144 |

Jaw surgery, underbite (Swe), Leyla 9 days after surgery Hi! I have had 2 check-ups with one of my surgeons and also an x-ray scan. Yesterday my surgeon put in rubber bands in order to pull the lover jaw a little bit to the left (so they sync completely). Hurt like the first days when you put in bracets. Today he removed some of the rubber bands and put them on other teeth to sync them. I got to bring home bands so I can take them out when I eat and put the in afterwards. Video 1- Pre Jaw surgery Hello all who are watching! I will hopefully be having jaw surgery in June, i will have a Lefort 1 Osteotomy to correct my jaw. Currently my back teeth are the only teeth that make contact. I wanted to add my videos to the mix for those who are also thinking about having jaw surgery. This surgery will correct my open bite, over bite, and cross bite. The orthodontist wants me in braces for one year, then have the jaw surgery, and continued wear of braces for up to one more year.
