Jaw surgery underbite (Before and After) I had an upper and lower jaw surgery last May 04, 2009 without any braces before and after the surgery. My recovery was quite fast. After a week of my surgery, I travelled already 400 miles away from home for vacation. After 2 weeks, I was able to eat blended soft foods and able to open my mouth slightly. After 4 weeks, they already removed my mouthguard and wires on my teeth. After 6 weeks, I can eat slightly hard foods and able to open my mouth with my 2 fingers. After 7 weeks, I can open my mouth with my 3 fingers vertically placed in my mouth in preparation for another tooth implant and it will be done next week. Hope you enjoy the video. Views: 54414 |

Underbite Surgery (Before and After) This is a video depicting the before and after pictures of my underbite surgery. I had a protruding mandible (lower jaw) and a deficient maxilla (upper jaw) which contributed to my openbite so the surgery was done to push my lower jaw back and to pull my upper jaw forward. After the surgery, I was on a liquid diet for almost 3-4 weeks after which I started eating really soft food. I have titanium plates on my lower jaw and implants on my upper jaw.
