About

Dr. M. Justin Moore D.M.D., M.S., loves being on the Kenai Peninsula. He has practiced orthodontics here since 1987. He declined taking over the only Orthodontic practice in Malibu California and resigned 17 other state licenses to be the only orthodontist residing in the central Kenai peninsula.Â

Dr. Moore graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, his professors awarded him the Pierre Fauchard Award and Omicron Kappa Upsilon as the top overall dental student. He was allowed to leave school early to begin working as an intern with the Indian Health Service and US Public Health Service.

This experience started six years of serving in the following sites: Washington, D.C. as a dental officer at St Elizabeth hospital, St Ignatius Flathead Indian Reservation, Tohatchi NM Navajo Dental Clinic, and 4 years as the primary Clinical Dental Officer for the Bristol Bay Area at Kanakanak Hospital in Dillingham. Dr Moore has provided volunteer dental services in Mexico and Guatemala, as well as many educational classes for other doctors.

Starting his Orthodontic residency at UCLA in 1985, Dr. Moore paid for the tuition while providing dental care in a downtown L.A. clinic for underprivileged Hispanic patients.

While at UCLA, Dr Moore also met his wife Orie where she worked in a Beverly Hills Orthodontic practice. UCLA provided a world renowned Orthodontic and TMJ residency, as well as a Craniofacial and facial pain curriculum. Dr Moore was awarded a Masters of Oral Biology for his research there.

Dr. Moore can often be seen playing his guitar, bicycling everywhere on the Kenai, XC skiing at the Tsalteshi ski trails or kayaking in the lakes and rivers. He enjoys raising hunting dogs, flying and building wooden boats and instruments. He belongs to the Rotary club, Tsalteshi Trails association, Kenai bike club, Seward Trails association and almost every Dental or Orthodontic professional association ever invented.
