Are braces necessary before the age of 12?
We have recently found out that my son has an anterior crossbite, they of course suggest braces. If he gets braces before all his baby teeth have fallen out will braces cost me more in the long run? Is it better to wait for his baby teeth to fall out? And will the brace need to be fixed everytime a tooth falls out?

There are usually now set age as far as when to start any kind of orthdonitc treatmett. Orthodontic treatment does not mean braces only. There are all kinds of ortho appilainces that helps a younger patient when there permanent teeth are just started to erupt and not coming in propably as it is in your son case. I recomment that you start the appliance now so they can correct the crossbite and hopefully the rest of the permanant teeh will erupt properaly. Once the crossbite is corrected your son may get a retainer to hold it in place while the other teeth erupt and then possilbly put braces on to finish up the perfect smile for the rest of the teeth. If not sure, get a second opionin from another orthodontist/ Good Luck
