Are Braces and Oral Surgery A Good Idea For Adults?
I am 28 years old and my orthodontic said i need 8 teeth pull for braces. Also he said because my lower jaw was a little bit off and i need 4 wisdom teeth and 4 other teeth pull to get a perfect fit. I have a open bit that he trying to fix and is that common getting 8 teeth pull for brace at the age of 28 years old. I have oral surgery next week to remove 8 teeth before i can get brace. I wonder is that a great idea for a adult

It is common to have teeth removed before the braces are put in. As you mentioned that you have a open bite, which is also a common. Your orthodontist wants to have all your wisdom teeth removed and also four other teeth (probably your bicuspids top and bottom) in order to make room for teeth to close properly and line up correctly. As you said you are 28 years old, it is never to old to anyting and age usually don"t matter. The older we are the harder it is to move teeth BUT we move them. There are people who get braces in their 60's and 70's as i said it is never too late to do anyting. You are doing the right thing as you are young and have a lifetime ahead of you. You will notice when all done it was worth it to get the perfect smile and also for functioning as eating and chewing. You will also probably notice thru-out the treatment your mouthbreathine(from open bite) will deminish. As you will probably sleep better.
