Back teeth don't meet
I have had braces fitted (on the front of my teeth). Clear ceramic on top, metal on the bottom. I was told I have a deep overbite, but now the braces are on I can't eat with my back teeth without catching my top teeth on the lower brackets. Is this normal?

Answer: yes it is normal for teeth not to meet while in treatment

Once you have orthodontic procedure, your teeth will always be moving in all different ways. In your situation as you mentioned that you have a deep overbite. Sometimes the orthodontist will put some buildup on the back molar so you can have some contact, and some just let you find a way for you to find contact. I promise you this will change. The orthodontist will probably first try to open your bite, (where you only have contact on front teeth). Once the bite is open, they will then proceed to to pull down the rest of the teeth to align them up properly. You will be wearing elastics bands to pull them down. It takes time to do all this. I personally wore braces in my late 30"s and never regretted it.
You will have a perfect smile for the rest of your lifel
Good Luck and keep up the good work, Its worth it.
