Black stuff
I have braces, and im new to them and i woke up this morning and saw that i have some kind of black outline or some kind of black stuff all around my brackets… and i cant take it off..i tried to see if it would come off by using tooth picks. and i noticed the black stuff would get on the tooth pick. But it still wont come off… What is it?

This means you are not brushing correcting. It is buildup that is getting on your teeth. It can only be removed by getting a cleaning at your dentist. Make sure that you are brushing your teeth at least 2 mins and really it should be 4 if you have braces. If you use a reg. toothbrush be sure to brush in circles. If this does not seems to be working try an electric toothbrush. Make sure to position the toothbrush at an angle to geton each side of the brackets. If you leave this build up there it can cause white decalcification lines which can turn into cavities once the braces are removed. So learn to take your time, brush at least 2x daily, floss 3 times a week.
