Can I have my orthodontist remove my metal brackets and replace with ceramic?

I am a 22 year old female and I just got braces put on my top and bottom teeth yesterday. I have a pretty extreme case, have to get two upper molars extracted next week. For this reason the orthodontist only put complete braces (brackets, coils, wires) on my bottom teeth, and just brackets on my top. When my doctor sat me down after I had my records taken, and went over what I needed done, how long treatment would be, etc., he said that my total cost of treatment would be $5,430. He never even mentioned that there even was an option of having ceramic brackets. Because I have to go through Care Credit, the total cost of treatment he provided me is what I used when applying for the card. So jump back to yesterday, I get to the office, the secretary kindly offers to run my card for the full amount while I wait, I allow her to. I am brought back and instantly a woman, not the ortho I saw or had my consult with, starts the process of putting my bottom braces on. The ortho comes over to do a bracket check every so often. At one point I hear him say “are we doing clear on top or is it written down,” which at this point I am very confused.

He says after the bottoms are done he will take the contraption out of my mouth and explains that I can have ceramic braces on top, but it will be $300 more and it really isn’t too much of a difference. I did not even know ceramic braces existed before this! If I had options, I would think he would have broughten that up during my consultation and when he gave me my price! Unsure of what to do, and not knowing if this would even surpass my credit limit/ not knowing how ceramic braces actually looked on a person, I hesitantly said to just continue with the metal. Well after I left I did research on ceramic braces and they look SO MUCH BETTER. I am struggling to even look at myself in the mirror with these metal brackets, it’s really doing a number on my self-esteem, and had I known about the option of ceramic well before my appointment and wasn’t told about it the day of, in the middle of, getting my braces on, I would have chosen ceramic!! I am beating myself up over this. Knowing that I have to live the next two years with a mouth full of metal when I could be a lot more comfortable and confident with myself had I gotten ceramic. Is it possible to have the metal brackets removed and have him instead but ceramic on? As I said my top braces are just the brackets until I get my teeth pulled. And if so, would it cost more than the $300 for the ceramic to have the metal taken off? Would it even be ethical to do so considering I was not fairly, or properly informed or given the option? Thank you.
