Can this teeth gap be closed?

I have worn braces for about 2 years however there's this small gap in my front teeth. My dentist said its the shape of my teeth and it cant be closed. I'm also taking out my braces in the next appointment. I have worn powerchain for about 2 months only and my dentist changed it to the regular one and asked me to wear elastics. She said the only way to close it, is to do a composite i think. I'm curious if this gap can actually be closed with powerchain or something else. I have submitted a picture with my braces on. You will be able to see the small gap in my front teeth. Is it possible to be closed before I take out my braces because I really want a straight teeth.

Answer: Closing a diastema

Since the top portion of your teeth have no space, it is more than likely the shape of your teeth that is creating the small gap on the bottom portion of your teeth.  If it is bothersome, a small resin bonding or porcelain veneers can be placed to change the shape of your existing tooth with minimal tooth removal.  It is cosmetic, so insurance will more than likely not cover the procedure.  If you would like to whiten your teeth in the future, it is best to have this done prior to any cosmetic treatment as well, therrfore providing the best match.
