Answer: no age is too old for braces!

By

There are a lot of adults who run into this issue. Some because of poor communication between the orthodontist and the patient. Most and almost 90% or more of patients that end braces treatment will be given a set of retainers. Sometimes it is not explained that this will be a life time commitment. Yes! Just like anything else in your body things change and move with age. if you do not wear a retainer even if just at night your teeth can shift. This will.result in not straight teeth again. So it is very important to wear a retainer at least at night everynight after treatment allowing the teeth to not shift. There are different types of braces you cam get. You could go with thw traditional metal braces which is usually the less expensive way. Or there are clear brackets and invisalign.you will need to discuss options for treatment with the orthodontist. In some cases invisalign is not always an option for some. They would and should tell you this. Now as far as your teeth falling out for getting braces when you are older. Unless you have some type of gum diease or large decay in your tooth, this is false. Some adults will notice when getting braces your teeth feel loose and may evem wiggle slightly. This is normal!even childrem amd teens sometimes get this. Your teeth are moving and the bone and gums need time to grow and get used to the new position of the teeth. They willeventually.become strong again and not move or wiggle. Do not believe all you hear.
