How will braces fix teeth that look like they will turn into

My daughter is 8 years old and we have been told that she will need braces as soon as possible because the x-rays show her adult teeth are much bigger than her baby teeth and that six of her upper adult teeth will need to fit into the space that four baby teeth are in now. If she does not get braces now she will get \"fangs\" (which i have seen pictures of) and her adult teeth will grow out of the top of her gums. I understand this and the fact that her jaw is small with a square curve. What I want to know is how the braces will fix this. I asked the orthodontist what exactly would be done to fix this since there is not enough room in her mouth and her jaw is too small. I was told nothing but that she needs braces and that I \"would not understand the mechanics of it\". There has been no talk of having any teeth removed either. So I am basically asking for the steps that will be taken with the braces and her mouth to accomplish such a task. I do not doubt the orthodontists skill but I would like to know exactly what my daughter will be going through. If you could help explain this I guarantee I am not as stupid as the orthodontist seems to believe and am willing to look up things and do research on my own, but if you could help I would greatly appreciate it.
