Is it neessary for teeth to be pulled?
i had two consulations with orthodontist for my 15 year old son one is telling me he needs to get like 4 teeth pulled and the other one is telling me that he likes to have the pt keep all there teeth when ever it is possible and he can fix the problem with my son wearing rubberbands instead of having to pull teeth so now i am really confused should i go talk to one more ortho to see what he says my husband is thinking that he probably needs to get the teeth pulled he is thinking they need to be pulled because there is not enough room in his mouth so he is wondering how are rubberbands going to make enough room

Answer: Keep all the teeth

I was taught to keep all teeth if possible, unless SEVERE crowding then its recommended to have teeth pulled.
Wearing rubberbands means that the upper teeth and lower teeth will line up for a perfect bite occlusion.
Therefore, I would go with the orthodontist that does NOT want to pull teeth. When pulling teeth your whole profile of your face will be different. (appearance of a larger nose, upper and lower lip a bit more concave.
