Is it true my teeth cannot be made straight after getting OTV’s

I asked my orthodontist to make my incisors look bigger because I wasn’t happy with the size. I was told they could take care of it and make my smile beautiful. They put on what they called an OTV and I was told they would need to be touched up every couple years.. I was okay with that because I have a chip on my front tooth repaired with composite and it has lasted a long time. Fast forward a few months, my incisors are behind my two front teeth and one was slanted. (This was not a problem prior to getting the OTV’s) I am now being told months later and after multiple wire tworks that with OTV’s my teeth will never be 100% straight and in order to achieve a straight smile I will have to have veneers put on. I’m super upset and idk what to do. I will have to pay for veneers out of pocket and I didn’t want to have the structure of my teeth taken away. I was NEVER told about this prior to having them done and I’m pretty upset about it. My teeth are no where near straight and I hate the way they look. What do I do??
