My teeth feel weird after i started wearing the retainer.

My orthodontist took my upper braces off while the lower ones are still there, he said i should wear the retainer all the time and that's what I'm doing (except when i eat), but I've come to notice that when i take it off my incisors couldn't touch even if i try, and the only teeth touching are the second molars, the ones that do not have brackets on, upper and lower, no other upper teeth touch with any lower teeth except the molars, and that didn't use to happen before i started wearing my retainer. My question is, is this normal? My teeth look alright but the feeling is a bit weird, should i see my orthodontist as soon as possible? As you need more details, I'll have to talk a bit about my teeth history, i got them on the ninth of march in 2018, didn't face any problems except the common ones, i have an abnormal lateral incisor so i had to go to my dentist to make it look normal just so the bracket could stick on it, it experienced some adjustments after i got the bracket loose once and its shape changed, so the retainer took this shape that didn't look normal for a teeth, so i had to go to the dentist again to make the permanent stuff placed on this tooth and it didn't fit into rhe retainer so the dentist tried to make it fit and it ended up broken where this tooth should sit. I couldn't wear it all the time because my gums would be swollen so i only wore it at night, this happwned for two weeks or a bit more until i could go to the dentist again because the permanent stuff needed some time to be ready, and the next day i went to the orthodontist to have me a new retainer which i should get the next day... So here i am now, wearing my retainer as needed and my teeth just feel weird, so, is this normal??
