Answer: Shop Around and Ask Your Orthodontist of Choice

By

When shopping for dental insurance it is advised to consider the future of your oral health needs or your families.   If you are prone to have a lot of dental issues than you will want to be sure that you have a dental treatment coverage where you will not constantly be coming out of pocket to meet a huge deductible and such.

When it comes to orthodontics there are several Dental Plans available that cover portions of braces treatment.  While some plans cover more than others, you will want to shop around to see which coverage will be best for your situation.   We have found it is best to discuss with your orthodontist also as they have worked with several insurance companies and can advise you the best route to go.    After all they want your business and if you chose an orthodontist based on a friend’s referral than you can be assured you found a good doctor.

In some severe cases where jaw surgery is needed to correct a severe malocclusion that causes a person to have TMJ, eating issues, speech issues, than occasionally we have seen the insurance company cover braces as it is part of the full treatment.

As noted, it is best to shop around for your best interest.
