Having primary teeth or "baby teeth" removed is normally an easy procedure. There most likely is not a lot of roots left to them making them easy to extract or remove. If the orthodontist is having you get some teeth removed they may have you do it before placing braces on. Sometimes they will wait to have them removed until after you have them on and them send you to have them extracted. Either your regular dentist or an oral surgeon will do this. They are not the ones who place your braces. So most likely no you will not get braces on during this procedure. By the sound of it you may need some teeth exposed also. If teeth are coming through palate of tyour .mouth or trapped and can not come out they may expose some teeth. This is when they will attach a bracket to the tooth that needs to come Down with a mini chain and thread. You will then return to your orthodontist and see them about every 2 wks. They will change the thread attached to the chain until the tooth eventualy drops into the correct place. They then remove that bracket and place a normal one I'm like the rest In your mouth. It is anchored to the wire allowing the pressure.to direct the tooth into the right place.
