Tooth extraction and Jaw Bone Loss?
I recently learned that when a tooth is extracted, the jaw bone that was supporting it is absorbed into the body, and is lost. I had braces at age 15, 11 yrs ago, and had 4 pre-molars extracted for the braces. Does that mean some of my jaw bone is lost, and that facial aging may take place faster than it would have if there had been no extractions? If so, how can this be prevented?

Answer: No prevention and NO worries

From what you are saying is that you had 4 premolars extracted for braces. Once you wore the braces, the other teeth were moved into that place.
So you do not have spaces now and the bone should be fine with the other teeth took its place.
Only when teeth extracted and nothing is replaced or left alone, is when you usually loose bone.
so no worries for you
Good Luck
