When traveling while undergoing  a Orthodontic treatment plan(with braces on your teeth), it is advised that you have the name and contact number of a orthodontist in the area of your destination.  This is good to have in the event that you need to seek thier office for a comfort visit. Most Orthodontist will accept patients for these comfort visits but not take over  treatment for a short period of time.The treatment planned and arranged by your immediate orthodontist will be continued once you return to them.  A comfort visit would include clipping any poking wires, removing but not usually replacing a loose brace or any other proceedure to simply keep you out of discomfort while on travel. If it is a simple visit most offices will do comfort visits for free or a small fee, usually $25.00 to $50.00.

If you are on gone from your orthodontic practice you may become a little bit behind in the estimated treatment time resulting in having braces a few months longer then planned. It is important to keep teeth clean, be thoughtful of soft food choices and keep dental wax on hand while traveling. Very important, have fun on your trip and smile alot!
