Am I Suitable for Teeth Whitening?

I had braces for around 4 years and that caused a lot of cavities in many of my teeth. The cavities have been filled now but now I want to get my teeth whitened. So will those cavities allow me to whiten my teeth? And also is the back side of the teeth whitened or is it just the anterior aspect of teeth that is whitened?

Answer: whitening after fillings

Unfortunately the shade of the resin placed in your teeth will not change, therefore if the fillings were placed on the facial (front) side of your teeth, it will be noticable after whitening.  If you only had fillings placed in the posterior teeth, you are fine to whiten.  Whitening gel penetrates the tooth, so even though it is placed on the facial surface, the lingual (tongue side) portion of the tooth will whiten as well.
