Answer: Resin-white filling v.s. crown

By

One dentist told you that he/she will do a root canal buildup and finsh up with a white filling.(usually cheaper) and the other dentist will do root canal build up core and finish with a crown. When you have a root canal done on a tooth. The nerve is removed form the tooth and filled with special stuff. When the nerve is removed from a tooth that tooth will become brittle within time that is why almost all the time a dentist will put a crown over the root canal tooth to make it strong and the chances of having the tooth break. My suggestion is go for the crown after the root canal core buildup. You did not mention which tooth it is because if its not the molar where you chew your food can be done with a resin after. Mostly if its in the front few teeth they will give you a choice to get a crown now or later.   Good Luck
