6 front teeth pulled at once?

I am scared to go to the dentist to have my last 6 teeth pulled. The dentist is using only Novacaine, and nitrous and says there will be no pain. Other people have said that I need to be unconscious. What do you think? I am 51 years old. Thank you, sincerely, Eugene Tips

Answer: possible oral surgeon

By

If you have dental anxiety you may want to explore other options. If you are just going to your general dentist to have the work done they may refer you to an oral surgeon. The general dentist is trained and cam remove these teeth with just the local anes. Novacaine.and with the help of the nitrous oxide. If you fear you will feel it or have a general fear of even going ask if you may possibly go to an oral surgeon to have it done. They have options like sedation. They can use they local anes as the general dentist would as well as the n20 but cam add sedation. You could do light sedatiom where they would call in a sedative to pharmacy for you to take an hr before your apt. This will help you relax even more. You will need transportation to and from appointment. The other option is iv sedation. It does not put you to sleep as some people think. You are actually fully conscious but you most likely will not remember it. It's a heavier type of sedation. The last option would be general anesthesia at am outpatient clinic. This would be mist expensive and normally is only used for extremely afraid patients that will not have work completed anyother way. Discuss the options with the general dentist and they will help you choose what's best
