Dry socket-cotton ball lost

I recently had my bottom right wisdom tooth removed... I have dry socket. I bought the Red Cross Toothache kit with the Eugenol stuff and the little cotton balls. One of the cotton balls FELL INTO the dry socket hole... Is this something I should be concerned about? I can\\\'t afford another trip to the Dentist, & I don\\\'t have transportation at the moment either. I\\\'ve tried removing it with tweezers, suction things, salt water... I can\\\'t find it!!!

Dry socket is not something that should be left untaken care of. The kit that you bought helps rinse and keep the are clean but will not slove the issue. If you get dry socket you need to return to the dentist so they can properly clean out the area of the extraction. If it is left undone it can cause more of an infection. You could wake up one morning and have your face swollen. They may need to place you on antibiotics also. You may be able to call the dentist and they might be able to call in the prescription for you until you are able to get in to see them. I would not suggest waiting to go in if you misplaced one of the cotton balls. Although it is very small if it is stuck inside the extraction site and you already have dry socket this will make it worst. The body will not just disslove it. It is going to continue to collect bacteria and can start to not only smell very bad but hurt even worst. They will need to remove this for you. If you have dry socket chances are they will need to open up the extraction site again which can be very painful. Again, if the cotton ball is in there you need to do this asap.
