Pain after filling

Hi Doctor, Two months back I got two cavities filled. From past few days, I've pain in lower deep on left side (first or second molar, if I understand the terminology correct). I guess one of the filling is the reason. It started after having half ripened red apple. It started with sensitivity in that area and now its painful. I feel the pain whenever I chew hard foods. I neither smoke nor eat non-vegetarian food. Any advise on this? Thanks, Sandeep

Answer: filling to high?

There could be a few things going on. If the pain is only when you are eating hard foods, the filling may be too high. You can go to dentist that did the work and have them check the occlusion.They will have you bite on a piece of paper and if it is high a color will show up indicating its high. If it is they will smooth it down. If this does not slove the issue, have them take an xray of the area. They may not have removed all the decay before placing the filling. In this case the doctor will need to open the filling back up and remove what is in there still. IF the decay was close to the nerve area they may need to place a "special" type of medicine to protect from sensitivity,before placing the filling as well.
