Wisdom tooth sockets

I had my wisdom teeth removed last Friday. I notice on the bottom right, that the socket itself is packed with something. Is this meant to come out with time or will the socket heal over with this inside? Also, what happens if this stuff that the socket is packed with becomes loose? Should I try to push it back in? Once again, this was a wisdom tooth extraction, not a treatment for dry sockets. Thanks for your help and advice?

Answer: Keeping The Sockets Clean

It could be gel foam which helps with clotting and healing. This will dissolve on its own. If there was anything else packed within the socket, the dentist or dental assistant would have notified you of such as well as how to remove it. Continue with your home care instructions as your were directed.
