Can Gingivitis Be Treated In a Mild Stage?

Can this gum disease ever be helped if it is in the mild stage? I don\'t want to just let it go untreated if it can be helped or even cured. Can you advise on the type of medical or dental procedure that is used if any? Thanks for the help.

Answer: Yes, gingivitis can be treated in a mild stage

If you know that you have gingivitis, my suggestion is find a periodontist in your city and or town. The periodontist is a gum specialist. Once you make a appointment, the periodontist and/or hygienist will probably take a full set of xrays and do some measuring of your gum tissues. Then they will be able to determine if you periodontal disease. If you do, they will then go over the area that you need to pay more attention to for cleaning. They may also have you do a deep cleaning to remove any plaque that is causing the gum disease. They may also give you special cleaning tools to help you keep up the work at home. Periodontial disease can be treated but not cured 100%. You can prevent it from getting worse. Good Luck
