Help my tooth is turning grey
Hi I got kicked in the face and my tooth (still a baby because I don't have a grown one beneath it) hurts and the roots hurt and are sticking out and it's turning grey and pieces are chipping off of the roots because it's so brittle, it's loose, the gums around it are really dark and sore and it smells terrible. Someone help please it hurts oh god

When a tooth begins to turn grey, or darker than its natural shade, this is a sign that there is damage to the nerve. Once this happens, the nerve must be removed with a root canal. However, since this is a primary tooth, you most likely will need to have the entire tooth removed and a dental implant or fixed bridge placed. When a tooth dies from trauma, it becomes dry and brittle. This may be why it is beginning to chip. The tissue surrounding the tooth may have become inflamed from the bacteria and dead nerve tissue inside the tooth. This is also the reason you are having a foul odor. It is best to see your dentist immediately in order to have the tooth removed to prevent the infection from getting worse or infecting the surrounding teeth. Once the tooth is removed, it can be replaced with a cosmetic and functional fixed prosthesis.
