Hole in teeth

I have a hole in one of my molars and it looks pretty deep. Every time i drink something cold or eat a certain food my teeth hurts. I\'ve touch around it and have found no pain, but i have pain inside the hole. I have tried using pain killers and it worker until i eat or drink again. Im concerned that i have a cavity or that i have reached the nerve. I do see a little black around the top. Is it a possibility that i have reached the nerve and well a root canal be an option?

Well you guessed it, u have a cavity. Anytime you are able to see a hole in your tooth it either means you cracked it or of course have a cavity. If you are having sensitivity and its causing your pain when you drink anything hot or cold you may need an root canal. The sensitivity means the bacteria inside the tooth decayed the tooth so much it has now reached the nerve area. You possible need a crown as well if it has reached to this point. You can go to either your regular dentist or an endodontist and they will determine if you need the root canal or not. if you are seeing a black spot In the hole that most likely is the nerve exposed. Make sure to get in as soon as you can so it doesn't become worst. If let be it will.continue to get bigger and an infection could start causing great pain.
