Hole Near last tooth, above wisdom tooth
A few weeks ago, my back bottom wisdom tooth area was inflamed as well as my left cheek. The dentist prescribed me some antibiotics for one week. The inflammation went away. There was never any pain or discomfort. My wisdom tooth hasn't come out yet. I developed this hole near my last tooth where my wisdom tooth should be coming in. Is this normal?

This is not a hole, but rather a cusp of your wisdom tooth that is pushing through your tissue. More than likely you experienced inflammation due to bacteria and debris collecting under your tissue causing an infection. This is also known as pericoronitis. It is imperative that you have your wisdom tooth removed in order to prevent this from re-occuring and from damaging the tooth in front of it. Even though you are not experiencing pain, there is a large amount of bacteria that is under the tissue and around the impacted wisdom tooth you will be unable to remove on your own while that tooth is present.
