Question from a college freshman

Hello, This is probably something you don't receive very often, but I'm looking for an input into my plans for college. I'm a freshman at a community college in California and am working towards becoming a dentist. The community college I'm attending is offering a bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, which is my intended major. However, this is the first year into the pilot program, so the chances of getting in are incredibly slim. One DH student got a C in one of her courses and had to wait a year before reapplying. Most DH students, who received A's and B's, were able to get in the first time they apply. These cases are going towards the associates degree. Now that a bachelor's is offered, it will be even more competitive. I just took my final for a DH course and I don't think I will be able to pass the class with a C. My question is, do you think I should continue this route or should I just transfer to a university and major in something else? If I transfer, what do you think is best to major in? Thank you for your time and input! Regards, Winnie
