Tooth hurting after silver fillings
Hi. I, many years back, got 2 silver tooth, I think you can say that they are coverings that went on top of my own tooth. Sorry.. I am not sure how you would call it. So, I have 2 silver tooth coverings on both sides of my mouth. A number of months ago, the silver tooth covering from my left side of the mouth fell off, and to repeat once again, this was a # of months ago. Now, since yesterday, I have been getting excessive pain on my left jaw, all because of that same tooth (where the silver tooth covering fell off) and it hurts really really bad. I am very scared to go to the dentist and when i touch the bottom of my left jaw , it hurts real bad, and it is all because of that tooth. Do you have any suggestions? Please.... thanks a ton

It is possible that when the filling fell out and you left it alone for a while. The tooth has gotten more decayed and now affecting the nerve of the tooth. It is possible that the nerve on that tooth is dying and will need a root canal. The only way to find out is for you to call the dentist as soon as possible and they will take an x- ray of the tooth and then determine what needs to be done. You may be lucky and just need to clean up the rest of the decay and put on a new filling. Don"t wait to long as it will get worse. Good Luck
