Firstly,Ouch! You should never try to take dental issue into your own hands. The only time you should remove a tooth is if it was a baby tooth that was ready to come out on its own. By trying to remove a permanent tooth yourself you can cause more harm then good. There's always the chance the root can break off and stay in the gums. You may think you got the whole tooth out but unless you have an xray or a dentist that has a lot of schooling to know if the entire tooth came out. You are now more prone to getting an infection if it hasn't started already. Your leaving room for bacteria to get at the nerve of the tooth. This is not something you should take lightly. If you have a white patch above the tooth chances are the infection started already. You ideally should really get on an antibiotic and have the entire tooth removed. It is tough with no insurnace but leaving a ticking bomb in your mouth can cause serious health issues. The infection can get in your blood stream traveling to other parts of your body other them your mouth! I would make a appointment with the dentist and discuss payment plans. In some states there may be a clinic for people that do not have insurance and sometimes offer the work for free. It may have you sitting there all day to be seen or when you call to make an appointment they may have to fit you in ,in a few weeks. I would look online to see if one of these exist by you. The gums may heal but not properly. And you van try orajel and stick to tylenol or motrin every y/8 hours. Also try rinsing a few times a day with warm salt water. This can help a little also. But please make an appointment ASAP.
