Broken Tooth From A Procedure
I had an endoscopy on Friday and when I came out of the proceedure they had broken off a front tooth. What will be needed to repair the tooth? The root part is still there and I am not in any pain. Does the medical center have any responsibility for the cost of the repair?

If they did not write up an incident report I would make sure to get one. They may not have to pay the cost for the repair although. Read through the consent you signed before going into surgery. It may state they are not held responsible for it. The thing about the incident report. Since it happened while having the procedure done when you go to have the work completed whatever you may need. They will submit to your dental insurance. What ever the out of pocket cost may be for you may be cover by you regular health insurance. The dental office most likely will not submit for you to health insurance but you yourself could submit the claim. They may ask for the incident report that you requested showing proof it happened under the hospital or clinics supervision. If you call the insurnace company they can assist you more as ro how to file this. Sometimes they may pay the dental office directly or you may need to pay then have them reimburse you later on. I would make an appointment with the dentist and have them give you a detailed treatment plan and cost so you are able to contact the insurnace company first. The dental office again may be able to do this for you just ask them what the protocall is on this.
