Answer: The first degree is bachelor of science

By

If you want to become an orthodontist, in high school the courses you should be taking is all science and math classes. Examples are: all math classes, chemistry, biology and some social studies courses such psychology, communication etc.  When you graduate high school try and find a college that specialize in bachelor of science as you would need that degree to continue onto university that does dentistry. You will have to get your dentistry degree and then specialize in orthodontic. There are quite a few university in united states that do dentistry and orthodontics in the same school. Dentistry takes usually 4 years in university and then orthodontics takes another 2-3 years after. This is a great career as you are taking patients in with crooked teeth( all ages) and after the treatment is complete they are walking out of your office with a big smile. This profession is a very rewarding career. People never forget you when they wake up and brush their beautiful teeth and the last thing they so before sleep is brush their teeth. You have to have  a very patience  personality and be very understanding as you are dealing mostly young adults and teenagers. You will also deal with older adults too. Good Luck and I know you will do good.
